HISTORY

Hundreds of years old, and once a folks' home for retired pub landlords, nothing about this chapel rings as regular. Building built in 1826 and bombed in World War II, the current use of the chapel is a flexible space for projects.

Asylum is an artist-led organization based in Caroline Gardens Chapel in Peckham, London. It was founded in 2010 and is directed by artists Jo Dennis and Dido Hallett. It is possible to use the chapel as a space for projects and exhibitions, hire it for events, weddings, funeral sessions and as a location for films and photographs.

WHY THIS PLACE

With a capacity for 120 seats in theater style and decorated with candles, flowers and festoon lighting, this romantic chapel is truly special for your London ceremony.

CURIOSITIES

• The asylum is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Architectural Heritage Fund.
