It is a public park in the city of Rio de Janeiro, located at the foot of Corcovado Hill. The main building of Parque Lage is undoubtedly the eclectic Roman style mansion. In fact, the house was built in the 19th century, with a central patio, swimming pool and terrace. The park is a fantastic place. For those who appreciate architecture and landscaping, the spaces follow styles and references. They were planned and built at different times.
The Front Gardens are geometric in the French style, with lawns and open fields, with a fountain and benches all around (in this garden it is possible to see Christ the Redeemer). The side gardens, on the other hand, follow the English style, which are composed of dense vegetation, with different types of plants and flowers, forming an almost enchanted forest.
WHY THIS PLACE
Another Brazilian option for a glamorous wedding, in the same environment in which Henrique Lage's wife, Italian opera singer Gabriella Besanzoni, organized, in the 1920s and 1950s, parties worthy of O Grande Gatsby, attended by the most prominent representatives of Rio society.
In 1967, Brazilian film director Glauber Rocha used the eclectic-style building as the seat of government for the city of Alecrim, in the fictional country of Eldorado, the setting for his film Terra em Transe.
In 1984, a statue of a painter was placed in the park, depicting the moment when Tom Jobim, together with his son João Francisco, planted a tree. This tribute to the Brazilian composer and poet was intended to show the need for continuous improvement so that the park's beauty would not be lost.
In 2002 the American singer Snoop Dogg and the duo The Neptunes recorded a part of the video for the song Beautiful in the park.
