HISTORY

Owner of a landscape perfectly sculpted by nature, the region of Islas Marietas resembles a giant cave, with an opening in the center of the rock through which light enters. Its waters are crystal clear and form a huge natural pool in the most beautiful and varied shades of blue and green, colors that a photo does not do justice. Just being there to find out.

WHY THIS PLACE

To get there, you have to do something unusual: dive under a submerged rock in the form of an arch – a quick dive, around 20 seconds. And the moment the visitor opens his eyes on the other side, the first reaction is one of amazement, as if he couldn't believe what he saw. They are the face of Riviera Nayarit. In any tourist guide, map, website or advertisement, the Marietas Islands will be there. And no less! Declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco in 2010, the archipelago of volcanic formation provides breathtaking images!

CURIOSITIES

Playa del Amor, the “beach of love” more typically called the Hidden Beach, is a secluded sandy cavern on one of the islands that make up Marietas Islands National Park, located on the north end of Bahía de Banderas, an hour northwest of Puerto Vallarta and only fifteen minutes from Punta Mita, Nayarit.
