HISTORY
It is a Formerly Used Defense Site in the US that was a Tonopah Basin military facility until shortly after it was designated an Air Force Base in 1948. Two of the runways still in use are maintained by Nye County, Nevada; and the foundations of the WWII building and three base hangars remain at Tonopah Municipal Airport.

The facility which was completed in 1943 and had runways, water storage tanks, barracks, barracks, supply buildings, school buildings and penthouse facilities.
